Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrates first Welsh drama shoot in Swansea
Catherine Zeta-Jones filmed the new thriller series “Kill Jackie” in her hometown of Swansea, using her native Welsh accent for the first time.
Catherine Zeta-Jones, 57, leads the new Prime Video thriller “Kill Jackie” as Jackie Price, a former cocaine dealer targeted by hitmen. Production took place in Spain, Portugal, England and, notably, Wales, marking the first time the actress has filmed a drama in her native country and spoken with her Welsh accent. Zeta-Jones said strolling through Swansea’s streets while in character was especially poignant, blending her personal roots with the role.
She highlighted how using her own accent helped ground the performance and allowed greater improvisation. The series is based on Nick Harkaway’s novel “The Price You Pay,” released under the name Aidan Truhen, and will be available from October 2 on Prime Video.
