Catherine Zeta-Jones Returns to Wales, Uses Real Swansea Accent in New AMC+ Thriller

Catherine Zeta-Jones headlines the new AMC+ series Kill Jackie, marking the first occasion she uses her authentic Swansea dialect in a television role. She plays Jackie Price, a glamorous art dealer with a hidden past as an international drug smuggler, who becomes the target of a hired assassin team known as The Seven Demons. The eight-episode thriller, based on Aidan Truhen’s novel The Price You Pay, was co-created by Conor Keane, Tom Butterworth, Peter Lawson and Damon Thomas, with Thomas directing and Butterworth serving as showrunner.

Filming took place in Zeta-Jones’s hometown of Swansea as well as Bilbao, Lisbon and London. The cast includes Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Óscar Jaenada and Ron Perlman among others. Kill Jackie will launch on Oct. 2, streaming on AMC+ in the United States and on Amazon Prime Video across the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Canada.
