Cava CFO outlines rapid growth, AI use and steady pricing strategy
Cava reported a 31.3% jump in revenue and plans to add 2,500 staff while using AI to streamline operations, without raising prices further.
Cava’s latest quarterly results showed revenue climbing to $365.4 million, up 31.3% from a year earlier, while same-restaurant sales grew 9% on a 5.3% increase in traffic, prompting a double-digit rise in its share price. CFO Tricia Tolivar explained that the finance team relies on AI capabilities built into the company’s proprietary platforms, Cava Core and Cava Current, to accelerate analysis and prepare for earnings calls.
She emphasized that AI is intended to reduce friction for front-line employees rather than replace them, underscoring the brand’s focus on human connection. The chain plans to recruit 2,500 additional staff this year and has opened 17 new restaurants in Q2, expanding its footprint to 476 locations with a goal of 75 new openings overall. A new “Flavor Your Future” campaign introduces an assistant general manager role to develop future leaders.
Menu pricing was increased only 1.4%-1.5% at the start of 2026, with base bowl prices unchanged, and no further hikes are expected. Recent menu additions include salmon and Harissa barbecue pita chips.
Why it matters
Cava’s growth and AI integration show how fast-casual chains can expand while keeping prices stable and preserving jobs.
