CBA detains former Solvere executives linked to presidential office campaign

Agents of the Central Anticorruption Bureau detained Piotr Matczuk and Anna Plakwicz on Wednesday. The pair, former members of Solvere’s management board, had been contracted by the Polska Fundacja Narodowa to execute the "Sprawiedliwe sądy" billboard campaign, funded with state-owned company money. Matczuk now works with TV Republika, while Plakwicz holds the post of director of the Events Office in President Karol Nawrocki’s Chancellery. Both were earlier advisers to ex-prime minister Beata Szydło. Their arrest prompted commentary from PiS officials, representatives of the President’s Office, and Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty, who suggested the arrests could signal the start of further detentions within the presidential administration.
