CDU slips in Niedersachsen poll, trailing SPD and closing on AfD

In a recent Insa poll ordered by one outlet, the CDU’s support in Niedersachsen dropped noticeably, leaving it behind the SPD and almost level with the AfD as local elections approach. The SPD modestly improved its standing, while the AfD recorded a slight rise, narrowing the gap with the Christian Democrats. The Greens achieved the strongest growth among parties, whereas the FDP edged up and the Linke slipped further.

Smaller parties such as BSW and other minor groups stayed at low levels. The results imply that the incumbent SPD-Green coalition could lose its majority, and traditional coalition formulas appear difficult, prompting speculation about new alliance possibilities.
