The rumor originated from Table Media chief editor Michael Bröcker, who claimed Stumpp would vacate her post and be succeeded by eastern MP Michael Hose. Stumpp responded on X, calling the report inaccurate and confirming she still holds the position.
The CDU has not issued any denial, and observers note a reportedly cool rapport between Stumpp and General Secretary Franziska Hoppermann. The episode echoes previous failed personnel reshuffles within the party, such as the aborted ouster of transport minister Patrick Schnieder.
