Cebu police and PDEA seize 4 kg shabu worth P27.2 million, arrest three suspects

Anti-narcotics teams in Cebu City confiscated about four kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P27.2 million and detained three men during a buy-bust in Barangay Bulacao on Friday night.

In a coordinated buy-bust on Friday night, PDEA-7 and the Cebu City Police Office detained three individuals and seized roughly four kilograms of suspected shabu estimated at P27.2 million. The raid took place at Saint Jude Phase 2 in Barangay Bulacao at about 9:45 p.m., following a week-long surveillance prompted by an informant’s tip. Investigators recovered five vacuum-sealed plastic packs, the suspects’ sedan, cash used for the transaction, two mobile phones and other paraphernalia.

The primary target, a 33-year-old food vendor from Barangay Mohon in Talisay City identified as “Joseph,” was arrested with two alleged partners—24-year-old “Eduardo” and his 25-year-old nephew “Harold,” both mechanics from Datagon, Pamplona, Negros Oriental. The seized drugs have been sent to the PDEA-7 laboratory for analysis, and the three men remain in temporary custody at the PDEA-7 facility in Barangay Lahug while prosecutors prepare charges that could carry life imprisonment and fines up to P10 million.
