Celltrion achieves record quarterly profit surpassing 500 billion won

Celltrion reported a quarterly operating profit of 510 billion won, the first time it exceeded 500 billion won, driven by high-margin biosimilars and cost cuts.

Celltrion announced that its operating profit for the third quarter reached 510 billion won, marking the first time the figure crossed the 500 billion-won threshold. Revenue for the period was preliminarily set at 1.5 trillion won, representing a 45.8% increase from the prior year, while profit rose 69.2% year-on-year. The gains stem from a higher share of high-margin, next-generation biosimilars and continued cost-reduction initiatives.

Sales growth was noted across both established and newer product lines in key markets such as Europe and the United States. The firm’s direct-sales network, originally built around legacy products, is now supporting the rollout of newer biosimilars. Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, Celltrion expects the momentum to continue, citing the U.S. launch of its allergy-medication biosimilar Omlyclo as a contributor to future earnings.

Why it matters

The profit milestone signals Celltrion's growing influence in the global biosimilar market and its ability to boost earnings through premium products.
