Centene, a major provider of government-subsidized health coverage, announced that its chief financial officer, Drew Asher, will vacate the position in December and retire at the end of 2027 after supporting several strategic initiatives. The company introduced Chris Neczypor, aged 45, as the incoming executive vice president and CFO, who will start in September, collaborate with Asher, and officially assume the role on January 1, 2027.
In a statement, Centene credited Asher, who has been CFO since 2021, with guiding the firm through rapid growth, increasing revenue from roughly $126 billion in 2021 to about $195 billion in 2025. Neczypor previously held the EVP and CFO posts at Lincoln Financial, bringing experience in corporate finance, strategy, and capital management. CEO Sarah M. London highlighted Neczypor’s proven ability to improve financial results, streamline operations, and create shareholder value, noting his collaborative and values-driven leadership style. The transition occurs amid industry challenges such as rising medical costs, though Centene reported a quarterly profit exceeding $1 billion.
