Central Java Governor orders tighter school monitoring after child’s death
Governor Ahmad Luthfi directed all schools in Central Java to boost student supervision to curb bullying after a seven-year-old was killed by older classmates in Pemalang.
Following the fatal assault on a seven-year-old pupil by three older students in Pemalang regency, Governor Ahmad Luthfi ordered every school in Central Java to intensify monitoring of pupils. He told officials in Semarang that he wants to prevent any repeat of the tragedy. The governor also tasked the regional Education Agency with a goal of achieving zero bullying incidents, prioritising education on the issue.
