CeraVe Cleanser Showdown: Which Formula Fits Your Skin Best?
A side-by-side test of four best-selling CeraVe facial cleansers shows each excels for specific skin concerns, with no universal champion.
Four of CeraVe’s top-selling facial cleansers were evaluated side by side, with the tester tracking how each removed sunscreen and oil, the post-wash skin feel, lather quality, and suitability for daily use. The Foaming Facial Cleanser stood out for normal-to-oily skin, delivering a fresh, non-stripping cleanse thanks to ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. The Hydrating Facial Cleanser, free of fragrance and non-comedogenic, proved gentlest for dry or sensitive skin but was less effective at cutting excess oil.
The Renewing SA Cleanser added salicylic acid for mild exfoliation, helping smooth rough or congested skin, though it could dry sensitive users. The Acne Control Cleanser, also with 2% salicylic acid, targeted blemishes and excess shine but risked dryness if overused.
Why it matters
