Charter CFO Jessica Fischer joins Blackstone-Google AI infrastructure venture

Charter Communications' chief financial officer Jessica Fischer is leaving to become CFO of a new Blackstone-Google joint venture focused on AI computing capacity.

Jessica Fischer, who rose from corporate treasurer to CFO at Charter Communications, announced her departure to join the newly created Blackstone-Google joint venture as chief financial officer. The partnership, unveiled in May, will receive an initial $5 billion equity commitment from Blackstone and target 500 megawatts of AI-focused computing capacity by 2027, expanding beyond that thereafter. Google will contribute its AI chip technology and has appointed longtime infrastructure executive Benjamin Treynor Sloss as chief executive officer.

Fischer will leave Charter on Oct. 15, with EVP and chief accounting officer Kevin Howard stepping in as interim CFO while the company conducts a search for a permanent finance chief. The move underscores the migration of senior finance talent from mature telecom firms to fast-growing AI infrastructure projects.
