Chelsea edge Fulham 3-2 in a thrilling season opener

Chelsea secured a 3-2 victory over Fulham in their Premier League debut, with Cole Palmer starring and a costly error from Robert Sanchez.

In the first match of the Premier League season, Chelsea defeated Fulham 3-2 at Craven Cottage. Joea Pedro gave the hosts an early lead after a precise pass from Cole Palmer. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez's error allowed Fulham to level, shifting momentum.

Palmer responded by assisting new signing Maxence Lacroix, whose cross found Morgan Rogers for the second Chelsea goal. After halftime, Palmer scored his own goal by threading the ball between the keeper's legs. A further lapse by Sanchez let Fulham pull one back, but the Blues held on for the win. The match also saw the pending loan move of Mamadou Sarr mentioned during the game.
