Chelsea held to 2-2 draw by surprise leaders Hull in Premier League

Chelsea, the pre-match favorites, could only manage a 2-2 stalemate at home against newly promoted Hull, who remain unbeaten after four games.

In a surprising Premier League encounter, Hull City, the season's early leaders, earned a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge against heavily favoured Chelsea. Morgan Rogers opened the scoring within six minutes, marking the first goal conceded by a promoted side this season. Hull extended their lead to 2-1 when Mohamed Belloumi headed in from a corner and later added a second, capitalising on defensive lapses.

Chelsea fought back, and João Pedro levelled the score in the second half after a pass from Cole Palmer. Both teams sought a winner in the closing stages but settled for a point, leaving Hull on eight points and Chelsea on seven from four matches. Elsewhere, Liverpool failed to break the deadlock at Anfield, drawing 0-0 with Fulham despite chances for Alexander Isak and Bradley Barcola, giving Fulham their first point after three defeats.

Why it matters

The result keeps Hull atop the table and shows Chelsea's vulnerability early in the season.
