Chhattisgarh claims ₹8 lakh crore in investment pledges under new industrial policy

State officials say the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 has attracted investment commitments worth about ₹8 lakh crore for 280 projects, expected to create over 1.6 lakh jobs.

Chhattisgarh’s government reports that the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 has generated investment commitments of about ₹8 lakh crore for 280 projects, which are projected to generate more than 1.6 lakh jobs. Approximately 55 % of these projects have moved beyond initial pledges to the grounding phase, indicating early progress. The portfolio now includes a ₹10,000 crore semiconductor facility by Polymatech Electronics, a ₹1,000 crore AI data-centre park by RackBank in Nava Raipur, and the state’s first ventures in garment manufacturing, consumer electronics, chocolate processing, intra-ocular lens production and global BPO services.

To attract such capital, the state has implemented over 450 regulatory reforms, introduced the Ease of Doing Business Act with risk-based lifetime approvals, and digitised land conversion and allotment processes. The OneClick Single Window System now offers around 187 services across 25 departments, with deemed-approval provisions to speed up clearances. Incentive applications from tribal districts like Bastar, Sukma, Kondagaon and Dantewada have risen by 102 % as infrastructure improves. While the commitments are sizable, the real test will be converting them into operational facilities and the promised employment.

Why it matters

The pledges could reshape Chhattisgarh’s economy, creating jobs and diversifying industry beyond mining.
