The Chicago Police Department issued an alert after several armed robberies were linked to meetings arranged via Facebook Marketplace in the Grand Crossing area.
Chicago police have tied a series of armed robberies to meet-ups organized on Facebook Marketplace and similar platforms in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. Victims were lured through online messages and robbed after arriving at the agreed sites on September 17, September 29 and October 7, 2026. The suspects are described as an unknown male aged 20-30 and an unknown female.
Authorities recommend that buyers and sellers meet in public, well-lit areas or designated police-station parking zones, bring a companion, and consider digital payments.
