Children's YouTuber Ms. Rachel endorses reparations, cites Coates on racial history

Ms. Rachel shared a Ta-Nehisi Coates quote supporting reparations on Instagram, continuing her recent political commentary.

Rachel Accurso, known online as Ms. Rachel, posted an excerpt from Ta-Nehisi Coates' essay "The Case for Reparations" on Instagram, calling for a national reckoning with the country's history of slavery, Jim Crow, and discriminatory housing policies. The move adds to a series of overtly political actions, including endorsements of Democratic hopefuls such as former Rep. Cori Bush and Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Earlier, she suggested racial bias in the investigation of Nolan Wells' death, prompting former Florida State Attorney Dave Aronberg to accuse her of injecting division into domestic tragedies and foreign-policy debates.

One outlet sought comments from Accurso and Coates but received none. The post reflects Accurso's growing use of her children's-educator platform to promote progressive causes.
