Chili’s launches first pop-up restaurant at Burbank golf club

Chili’s will temporarily turn the DeBell Golf Club clubhouse in Burbank, California, into a pop-up “Chili’s Golf Club” on August 28-29.

Chili’s is launching its first-ever golf-course outpost by taking over the DeBell Golf Club clubhouse in Burbank, California, for a pop-up called the Chili’s Golf Club on August 28 and 29, operating from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can order signature dishes such as the Triple Dipper and enjoy two specially created margaritas. The temporary venue also showcases a limited-edition golf apparel collection designed with activewear label Rhoback, sold at the club’s pro shop and online while supplies last.

Marketing chief George Felix of Brinker International described the concept as a “people’s clubhouse” bringing a 19th-hole experience to a public municipal course. The campaign is backed by a short film featuring PGA Tour player Wesley Bryan, LPGA star Jena Sims Koepka and digital creator Caleb Pressley. This stunt follows previous high-visibility promotions by Chili’s, including a viral Triple Dipper ad and a New York City “Fast Food Financing” pop-up. The event will close after the two-day run.

Why it matters

It illustrates how restaurant chains use experiential pop-ups to attract new customers and boost brand buzz.
