China Pavilion pushes deeper halal trade ties at Malaysia International Halal Showcase
The China Pavilion at MIHAS 2026 is using the exhibition to broaden halal trade with Malaysia, showcasing products and seeking import opportunities.
During MIHAS 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, the China Pavilion is actively pursuing stronger halal trade connections with Malaysia. Mason Mei Xiao Qing, the pavilion’s project manager, explained that the showcase offers Chinese companies a platform to display processed food items, packaging materials and food-processing equipment, and to meet potential Malaysian buyers face-to-face. She also noted interest in importing Malaysian raw agricultural and livestock goods such as beef, dairy and spices.
The pavilion views Malaysia’s central position in Southeast Asia as advantageous for accessing regional markets. Organisers expect around 50,000 visitors from 45 countries to attend the four-day event at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
Why it matters
The initiative could boost cross-border halal commerce, benefiting producers and consumers in both China and Malaysia.
