China slashes Japanese visa costs by seven times in reciprocal move

The Chinese embassy in Japan announced that, starting Monday, Japanese citizens will face a visa application charge roughly seven times higher than before. This adjustment follows Tokyo's decision earlier this year to raise visa fees for all non-Japanese travelers in July. Chinese officials say the change is a direct response to Japan's broader fee increase. The new rate applies only to Japanese nationals, not to other foreign applicants.
