Chungbuk National University reported that more than 1,800 students from about 40 countries are now studying its AI, software and global business courses.

Chungbuk National University’s recent enrollment figures show more than 1,800 international students representing roughly 40 countries, reflecting the school’s push to grow its global presence. The School of International Studies offers multilingual tracks in AI, software, and global business, with undergraduate courses taught in Korean, English and Chinese and graduate options in English, Chinese and Korean. New programs introduced this year include two undergraduate majors in convergence software and global education, as well as a master’s in global business launched in September 2024.

In the fall 2026 semester, 385 new students joined five undergraduate and graduate programs, notably 109 in the convergence software master’s. The university also rolled out G-Cruit, a platform matching international applicants with faculty, and provides scholarships, a 3+2 accelerated degree path, priority dormitory access, counseling, and mentorship to support students’ academic and cultural adjustment. Ok Kwang, head of the Office of International Affairs, emphasized the focus on high-demand fields and comprehensive support services.
