Circular unveils Ring 3 series with NFC payments and haptic alerts

Circular introduced the Ring 3 lineup, offering a Pro model with health sensors and a slimmer Slim version, both featuring vibration alerts and contactless payment capability.

Circular announced the Ring 3 Series, expanding its smart-ring portfolio with two variants. The Ring 3 Pro keeps the health-tracking suite from the previous model, including photoplethysmography, blood-oxygen measurement and FDA-cleared atrial fibrillation detection, and adds an integrated NFC chip for contactless payments and vibrating alerts for reminders and guided breathing. The slimmer Ring 3 Slim omits the ECG sensor and AFib detection, using a biocompatible epoxy interior and a smaller battery that still supports heart-rate, SpO₂, skin temperature, activity, sleep and HRV monitoring.

Battery endurance rises to up to 12 days for the Pro and 10 days for the Slim, and a wireless charging case can recharge the rings five to six times before needing a wall outlet. Both versions are offered in gold, rose gold, silver and black finishes, with pricing undisclosed and availability expected in early 2027.

Why it matters

The launch adds wearable health monitoring and payment features to a discreet form factor, expanding consumer options for health tech.
