On Friday afternoon, a police officer dressed in civilian attire was assaulted while riding the T4 tram in Lyon, Rhône, as he attempted to intervene in disruptive behavior. According to the police union Un1té 69, the officer was confronting four young individuals, aged 18 to 20, who were pushing, spitting and insulting other travelers. The suspects overpowered him, dragging him to the floor and delivering multiple blows to his face, eyebrows and nose.

He was subsequently transported to a hospital for examinations and received a temporary total incapacity for work.
