CJP leader asserts independence while aligning with INDIA bloc against election chief

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke said the group will stay an independent pressure outfit and is not opposed to the INDIA bloc, as both share the goal of confronting Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, told reporters that the CJP will continue to operate as an independent pressure group and is not hostile toward the INDIA bloc. He highlighted a shared objective: challenging Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, whom they allege is manipulating elections to benefit Narendra Modi. Dipke also ruled out any intention to convert the CJP into a registered political party.

His comments arrived amid heightened protests, including a massive march to the Supreme Court led by the INDIA bloc, with participation from Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and AISA activist Neha Bora. While the student leader’s involvement underscores the opposition’s broader coalition, the CJP has stopped short of openly endorsing the bloc’s actions, maintaining its distinct identity. The statements reflect ongoing tensions over alleged electoral irregularities and calls for the CEC’s resignation.
