Clean-energy PAC topples three Republican candidates in recent elections

The Invest in Tomorrow Coalition PAC, financed by solar executives and investors, has directed significant spending to remove Republican politicians who have acted against clean-energy measures. Its latest success came when South Carolina Senate candidate Ralph Norman was defeated by Darline Graham, sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, after the PAC spent nearly $1 million on opposition efforts. Earlier in the year, the group’s ad purchases hindered Representative Chip Roy’s campaign for Texas attorney general, and a roughly $2 million outlay helped defeat Tennessee Representative Andy Ogles.

All three targeted officials had supported the removal of renewable-energy incentives in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Co-founder Michael Brune said the industry’s political influence is growing and that the PAC’s “retribution tour” seeks to deter future attacks on clean-energy policies. With more than $6.8 million raised, the organization is poised to remain a powerful force in the 2026 election cycle.
