Cliftonville members approve £3 million Toronto Investment Group takeover
Club members voted to endorse a £3 million investment deal with the Toronto Investment Group, securing the future of Ireland's oldest football club.
Cliftonville FC members have formally approved a £3 million acquisition by the Toronto Investment Group, ending a lengthy saga of negotiations. The decision was taken at an extraordinary general meeting where a 75% majority was required and achieved. Earlier, former chairman Kieran Harding had been granted permission to explore the deal, but talks were suspended before being re-opened after a June EGM authorized formal negotiations.
Current chairman Kevin Crossan tabled the resolution, which members examined alongside the transaction structure presented by the club’s legal team. The club expressed gratitude to the investors—Drew Green, John Muffolini, Ron Davidson and Conor Devine—for their commitment and professionalism. This approval paves the way for a new era for the historic Irish football institution.
