Clippers secure veteran sharpshooter Bradley Beal on two-year contract
Los Angeles re-signed Bradley Beal to a two-year, $13.2 million deal, outbidding Miami and Boston.
Bradley Beal, a three-time All-Star and recognized elite shooter, turned down his $5.6 million player option and became an unrestricted free agent. The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics expressed interest in signing him on a veteran’s minimum deal, but the Los Angeles Clippers ultimately offered a two-year contract worth $13.2 million, including a player option for the second season. Beal’s representative, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, confirmed the agreement.
The guard missed most of the previous season after undergoing surgery for a left-hip fracture, posting career-low averages. The Clippers view his return as a boost to their roster as they aim for a playoff spot, while Beal hopes to join a contender in the latter stage of his career.
