CloudNC secures $20 million to expand AI-driven CNC automation tools

CloudNC, a manufacturing software company founded in 2015 by Theo Saville and Chris Emery, announced a $20 million extension round, raising its lifetime funding to $128 million. The round was headed by Nimble Ventures and included Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First and LM Capital, the venture arm of Lockheed Martin. CloudNC’s flagship product, CAM Assist, plugs into traditional CAM packages like Autodesk Fusion and Mastercam, automatically choosing tools, approach directions, feeds and speeds, and drafting the CNC code for human review.

More than 1,000 shops worldwide, with 80 % of customers in the U.S., currently use the service. The new capital will fund broader adoption, strengthen go-to-market efforts, and support the upcoming launch of Quote Agent, a tool that estimates project cost and risk to speed up quoting for manufacturers. Saville linked the initiative to trends such as reshoring and a shortage of skilled machining labor.
