Cluj police dismantle organized cannabis operation and seize weapons
Four suspects were detained in Cluj after authorities uncovered outdoor cannabis farms, seized large quantities of drugs and a cache of firearms.
DIICOT and the Cluj territorial service detained four individuals on suspicion of operating an organized drug network. The group cultivated outdoor cannabis near three settlements in Cluj County and sold it locally, while also dealing in ketamine and crystal-type substances. Raids recovered roughly 60 kg of green cannabis, 4 kg of buds, mushroom hallucinogens, drying equipment, precision scales and a variety of weapons such as an airsoft pistol, a compressed-air rifle, ammunition and pyrotechnic items.
The suspects, aged between 26 and 56, were charged with trafficking high-risk drugs and illegal possession for personal use. A Cluj tribunal judge ordered a 30-day preventive arrest, and the operation was supported by multiple police units from Cluj, Alba Iulia, Bistrița-Năsăud and the local gendarmerie.
