Coinbase launches tokenization hub in Abu Dhabi as UAE pushes digital-asset agenda

Coinbase has secured a licence from Abu Dhabi’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority to operate a tokenization hub, offering tokenized securities and custody services in the UAE.

The crypto platform will use the new hub to sell tokenized assets directly to customers with digital wallets, bypassing traditional brokerage and banking links. Abu Dhabi’s regulator approved the service, reinforcing the emirate’s goal of becoming a global digital-asset centre. The UAE is also backing the sector with sovereign-wealth investments, such as MGX’s $2 billion stake in Binance. Coinbase executives are slated to attend a White House gathering of cryptocurrency and prediction-market leaders later this week.

Why it matters

The hub expands crypto access in the Middle East and highlights the UAE’s push to become a leading digital-asset hub.
