Cole Escola's 'Oh, Mary!' to be filmed for HBO debut in 2027

A filmed version of the acclaimed stage play “Oh, Mary!” starring Cole Escola will air on HBO in 2027, captured during its July 28, 2026 London performance.

HBO announced that it will stream a filmed adaptation of the award-winning play “Oh, Mary!” in 2027, using footage from the July 28, 2026 London staging. The production features Cole Escola returning as Mary Todd Lincoln, with Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon appearing in a teaser that blends the play’s humor with a mock office scene. Supporting actors include Giles Terera as Abraham Lincoln, Bianca Leigh, Tony Macht and Michael Urie.

Sam Pinkleton, the original Broadway director, oversaw the television version. Executive producers comprise Escola, Alex Bach and Daniel Powell of Irony Point, Carlee Briglia and Mike Lavoie of Mike & Carlee Productions, and Kevin McCollum with Lucas McMahon of Alchemation. Escola expressed excitement about reaching a broader audience, while Pinkleton highlighted the opportunity to preserve the work on screen.
