Collien Fernandes invited as expert on digital violence to NRW parliament hearing

Collien Fernandes is set to address the North Rhine-Westphalia parliament as a specialist on digital violence and deepfake technology. She was invited by the SPD, whose faction chief Jochen Ott warned that online abuse is a pervasive problem affecting vulnerable groups and public personalities. The session, scheduled for the upcoming Thursday, will include input from the Landesanstalt für Medien, the organization Hate Aid, and officials from the NRW cybercrime state prosecutor's office.

Fernandes has previously accused her ex-husband Christian Ulmen of physical assault and of creating fake online profiles that circulated pornographic material, claims which Ulmen denies. The hearing aims to explore measures to prevent and combat digital harassment and to improve protection for victims.
