Collins holds narrow lead over Jackson in latest Maine Senate poll

In a poll conducted between Sept. 15 and 22, Susan Collins leads former Senate President Troy Jackson by three points, 49% to 46%, with a 4.8% margin of error. The survey suggests Collins is pulling voters from the center, including about 13% of her backers who want Democrats to control the Senate and roughly 12% who voted for Kamala Harris in 2024. Jackson is attracting a modest 3% of Republican voters, while both candidates hold 47% support among independents.

Compared with a June poll, Collins now matches the level of Harris supporters she had previously, though her independent backing has risen. Voter enthusiasm appears higher for Jackson (66% very enthusiastic) than for Collins (54%). The poll was funded with assistance from the Maine Trust for Local News.
