Colorado GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Claims Personal Encounter with Satan

Victor Marx, the Republican candidate who edged out his rivals in Colorado’s June primary, has publicly asserted that he encountered Satan during an exorcism performed over the phone. In a 2020 podcast episode, Marx recounted praying for a girl incarcerated in a Texas youth prison when a demon allegedly identified itself as the devil and engaged him in a conversation that ended with the girl’s deliverance. Marx founded All Things Possible Ministries in 2003 and previously advertised having rescued more than 40,000 women and children, a claim later withdrawn after fact-checking.

He also claims that an abusive stepfather prompted him to shoot and kill a man at age seven, a narrative that local law-enforcement records do not corroborate. Marx says he contacted the FBI and a sheriff’s office, but the case remained unsolved due to his young age and lack of details. The candidate is also under investigation for possible breaches of campaign finance rules. He will contest the upcoming gubernatorial race against Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, though polls suggest a Republican victory remains unlikely.
