Colorado GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Victor Marx Defends Past Physical Altercations with Wife
Republican gubernatorial hopeful Victor Marx told supporters he once shoved his wife during a self-defense lesson and said he would do it again.
Victor Marx, the Republican nominee for Colorado governor, used a campaign video call to recount a past incident in which he shoved his wife, Eileen, against a door while demonstrating self-defense, saying he would repeat the act. Eileen joined the broadcast, portraying the episode as a "rear choke" technique and noting that both hold black belts in karate. Marx reiterated the story on a local radio show, adding that he once lifted and tossed his toddler to stop the child from hurting a sibling, presenting it as a cautionary tale for fathers.
The couple co-founded the All Things Possible ministry, an organization that critics have labeled potentially dangerous due to its surveillance projects and ties to controversial rescue groups. Marx has faced other accusations, including brandishing a knife toward a psychiatrist, yet he continues to dismiss media portrayals of him as a domestic abuser. The revelations have sparked renewed scrutiny of his candidacy and the ministry’s operations.
