Colorado introduces fast-paced "Go-Go" offense under new coordinator Brennan Marion
First-year offensive coordinator Brennan Marion has installed a high-tempo, misdirection-focused scheme for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Brennan Marion arrived in Colorado after serving as head coach at Sacramento State and introduced a novel "Go-Go" offense built around rapid tempo and deceptive formations. The playbook, authored by Marion and introduced by Gus Malzahn, features a shotgun quarterback and dual running backs, creating space through constant motion similar to basketball. Quarterback Julian "JuJu" Lewis and running back DeKalon Taylor praised the system for its nostalgic, free-wheeling feel.
Marion's previous stint as offensive coordinator at UNLV saw quarterback Jayden Maiava accumulate over 3,000 passing yards and 17 touchdowns. Coaches and players, including Deion Sanders and receiver DeAndre Moore Jr., expressed optimism that the new approach could rejuvenate Colorado's previously stagnant rushing attack.
Why it matters
The new offense could reshape Colorado's football performance and impact recruiting.
