Colts rookie Keenan Allen booked for alleged DUI hours after debut

Wide receiver Keenan Allen was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Indianapolis shortly after his first preseason game with the Colts.

Keenan Allen, the newly signed wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, was arrested on a suspected DUI charge in the early morning hours of Sunday in downtown Indianapolis. The arrest, recorded at approximately 1 a.m. ET, stems from an IMPD police report and jail booking that list a 34-year-old matching his description. Media sources confirm he has been charged with two misdemeanor offenses related to the alleged incident.

The arrest comes just after Allen made his first appearance for the Colts in a preseason matchup against the Detroit Lions, where he caught a single pass for 24 yards. He was added to the roster on Aug. 19 to address depth concerns at the receiver position. The story remains developing as legal proceedings continue.

Why it matters

The arrest could affect Allen's availability and the Colts' roster plans early in the season.
