Colts wideout Alec Pierce receives second PRP shot to accelerate ankle recovery

Colts receiver Alec Pierce got a follow-up platelet-rich plasma injection to aid healing of his left ankle after surgery.

Alec Pierce, the Indianapolis Colts' wide receiver, underwent a “clean-up” operation on his left ankle in late March and was initially given a 4-6 month rehab window. After an earlier PRP injection failed to fully resolve soreness, he received a second dose, according to a report by Nathan Brown. The additional treatment is intended to speed recovery, not because his rehab has stalled, and the team has not set a return date. Pierce remains listed on the active/physically unable to perform roster.

Why it matters

Pierce's ongoing absence affects the Colts' receiving options and roster planning for the season.
