Communications Minister urges nationwide unity and digital progress on Malaysia Day

During the Malaysia Day 2026 ceremony at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil urged Malaysians to adopt the Iban principle “Segulai Sejalai,” meaning to move forward together, as a foundation for a more prosperous and united country. He emphasized that unity, development, and technological advancement should bridge all communities regardless of state, race, or religion, and help Malaysia earn greater respect regionally and internationally.

Fahmi highlighted the MADANI government’s commitment to digital inclusion through the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA) and the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure, especially in Sabah and Sarawak. He announced that 23 National Information Dissemination Centres have been completed in Sarawak and cited the success of NADI Pulau Banggi, which won a WSIS prize for capacity building. The minister framed digitalisation as a catalyst for education, economic opportunity and entrepreneurship, ensuring no citizen is left behind.
