Congress leaders Anil Yadav and Mukesh Dhangar charged with attempt to murder after Agra protest

A First one outlet's Report lodged on Monday in Agra names Congress state general secretary (organisation) Anil Yadav, Mathura district president Mukesh Dhangar and six additional individuals as accused of attempt to murder following a protest outside the residence of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s parents in Vijay Nagar. According to the FIR filed by Ring Road police in-charge Gaurav Kumar Gupta, a crowd of 15-20 agitators attempted to force entry, painted the walls black, and assaulted an elderly homeguard, Dinesh Kumar, rendering him unconscious.

Police officers, including sub-inspector Gupta, were also obstructed while trying to control the mob, which used provocative language toward the CEC and authorities. The eight named suspects were charged under sections 109(2), 121(2), 126(2), 132, 191(1), 333, 351(2), 352 and the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1932. The injured homeguard received treatment at a nearby health centre, and the crowd dispersed after police reinforcements arrived. Social media posts from the protesters were noted in the FIR.
