Police were alerted to an incident at a metal hall demolition site in Olt County, where a 53-year-old male worker fell from a scaffold and died. The victim, a resident of Izbiceni and employee of a private firm, was transported to the Slatina Emergency County Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The Olt County Police Inspectorate has launched a criminal probe, treating the case as a possible workplace homicide due to failure to observe safety and health measures.
Officers from the Rural Police Section in Corabia are conducting the inquiry. The investigation will assess whether the employer neglected legal safety obligations, potentially leading to charges of culpable homicide and violations of occupational health standards.
