Contractor worker suspended after clash with passenger at Labu station
A contractor employee who fought with a passenger at Labu station was suspended immediately after the incident went viral, which followed a train delay caused by a wild boar collision.
On Sept 15, a video showing a dispute between a passenger and a contractor’s worker at Labu station spread on social media, leading Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) to suspend the worker immediately. KTMB clarified the individual was not a direct employee but part of a contracted service team. The confrontation occurred after the Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang KTM Komuter line was halted when a train struck a wild boar between Batang Benar and Labu, leaving the train stranded.
Roughly 300 passengers disembarked at Labu and faced delays of up to 125 minutes, while staff from Seremban station were deployed to assist. The contractor placed the worker on suspension pending a detailed inquiry, and KTMB pledged continued cooperation to enforce work standards. The railway expressed regret for passenger inconvenience and thanked commuters for their patience.
