Controversial Gaza documentary Naza added to Venice Film Festival line‑up
The Venice Film Festival has placed the English‑language documentary Naza, directed by Oscar‑winning Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, on its roster only weeks before the event concludes. The film examines the Gaza conflict, includes an interview with an Israeli Defence Forces officer and draws on a military code that predicts civilian deaths in airstrikes. Festival chief Alberto Barbera said the late placement was intended to keep the film from dominating the competition and turning the festival into a political battleground.
