Convicted sexual offender admits abusing two boys during prison leave
A 23-year-old convicted sexual offender confessed in the Aschaffenburg district court to abusing two minors while on prison leave.
During a hearing before the 2nd Youth Chamber in Aschaffenburg, a 23-year-old man who had been incarcerated for child abuse in the Hameln youth detention centre admitted to abusing two boys while on a temporary prison leave in early 2025. The first victim, aged twelve, was assaulted between March and May 2025 in the Aschaffenburg area, and a second, eleven-year-old, was attacked in July 2025 in the Salzlandkreis. Prosecutors charge him with repeated severe sexual abuse, creation and possession of child-pornographic material, rape and bodily injury, noting that some acts were recorded on video or photographs.
The state prosecutor announced plans to seek a security detention order after the prison term, citing a continued threat to society. The suspect had previously been granted several unaccompanied outings, which were later restricted after he used a phone to search for illicit images. The trial is largely public, though victim testimony may be excluded from the audience.
Why it matters
The case highlights risks of repeat sexual offenses by inmates granted temporary release and the need for strict safeguards.
