Coop launches price cuts on over 600 items at Stora Coop stores

Coop announced a new pricing strategy that lowers the cost of more than 600 products across all Stora Coop supermarkets.

Starting today, Coop will implement a new pricing approach that reduces the price of over 600 items in every Stora Coop hypermarket. The initiative focuses on the products shoppers buy most often, with the goal of aligning prices with competitors after public surveys suggested Coop was perceived as costly. A company representative explained that while the move may affect profitability initially, it is viewed as a worthwhile investment for the cooperative’s members.

Funding for the price cuts comes from the 23 consumer associations that own Coop. The strategy reflects the retailer’s commitment to member interests and aims to rebuild customer trust and long-term financial health.

Why it matters

Lower prices on staple goods could boost consumer spending and improve Coop's competitive position.
