Corruption probe into prosecutor Mario Venditti closed, investigation moves to Pavia
A judge in Brescia approved the archiving of the corruption investigation involving prosecutor Mario Venditti, shifting the case to the Pavia prosecutor's office.
During the 11 a.m. broadcast, the host announced that the Brescia preliminary investigation judge accepted the request to archive the corruption inquiry concerning Mario Venditti, the added prosecutor from Pavia. The decision, submitted by chief prosecutor Francesco Prete and his deputies, has not been publicly issued yet. Consequently, the investigation will be transferred to the Pavia prosecutor's office, removing Venditti from the list of suspected corrupt officials.
The focus now turns to Giuseppe Sempio, father of Andrea Sempio, who is being examined for possible bribery intended to secure his son's earlier release. Andrea Sempio has reappeared as a suspect in the murder of Chiara Poggi, keeping the case active under the new jurisdiction.
