Cosmetic practitioner sentenced for illegal hyaluronic acid lip injections
A court in Gyula fined a cosmetician for performing hyaluronic-acid lip augmentations without a medical licence between 2022 and 2024.
The Gyulai Törvényszék sentenced a cosmetician to a fine after determining that the individual performed hyaluronic-acid lip injections without holding a specialist medical licence or a business permit. According to the indictment, the illegal services were offered at the salon from 2022 through 2024. The Békéscsaba District Court, during a preparatory hearing, declared the defendant guilty of quackery and ordered both a monetary sanction and the confiscation of assets.
Hungarian law classifies filler, botox, and similar aesthetic procedures as medical activities that must be carried out by qualified surgeons, plastic surgeons, or dermatology-cosmetology specialists. A separate case in late April saw another young cosmetician penalised for providing similar treatments to five clients.
