Costco brings back popular Kirkland semi-sweet chocolate chips after two-year hiatus
Costco has restocked its Kirkland Signature Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, which were removed from shelves in July 2024 due to higher cocoa prices.
After pulling its Kirkland Signature Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips in July 2024 because of rising cocoa costs, Costco has begun offering the item again in stores and on its website. The comeback was celebrated by members on Reddit, with several users confirming availability at locations like the Milford, Connecticut warehouse. Prices for the 4.5-pound packages range from $11.99 to $12.59, a noticeable increase from the $7.99 price point shown in a 2021 photo.
The retailer had temporarily stocked Nestlé Toll House chips as a substitute, but many shoppers expressed a preference for the original Kirkland product. The restock coincides with other recent Costco highlights, including new Southern-style buttermilk biscuits and a limited-time Vanilla Cookie Crunch Sundae.
Why it matters
