Costco has introduced a new beverage option for its iconic $1.50 hot dog combo, allowing customers at certain locations to replace the standard 20-ounce fountain soda with a 16.9-ounce bottle of Kirkland Signature water. The soda, which still comes with unlimited refills, continues to be offered alongside the water choice. Online discussions have highlighted the perceived value of the combo, especially for shoppers who prefer the hot dog without the sugary drink.

Registered dietitian Lauren Manaker explained that swapping to water reduces sugar intake, though the hot dog itself is not a health-focused food. She noted that for infrequent food-court visitors the impact on overall health is modest, but the option provides a lower-sugar alternative without changing the $1.50 price point.
