Costco opens membership office in Malaga ahead of 2027 store launch
Costco has set up a temporary membership desk in Malaga on October 19, allowing locals to join before the new warehouse opens in spring 2027.
Costco began a temporary membership office in Malaga on October 19, giving residents a chance to enroll before the permanent warehouse opens at the Malaga Nostrum retail park in spring 2027. The desk is open six days a week, 10 am-10 pm, and charges roughly €36 per year for private members and €30 for companies or self-employed users. New members receive a €10 voucher valid at any Spanish Costco for 30 days after the Malaga store’s debut, and they can immediately use their cards at other Costco stores and petrol stations nationwide.
The Malaga membership will remain active until spring 2028, rather than the usual 12-month term. This will be Costco’s sixth outlet in Spain, joining locations in Sestao, Las Rozas, Getafe, Seville and Zaragoza, and will replace the retail park’s leisure and cinema area as part of a €60 million expansion that adds 18 modern cinema screens and creates about 200 jobs.
Why it matters
The new Costco outlet expands bulk-shopping options in southern Spain and creates hundreds of jobs.
